One really important thing you need to know about me

Capturing people in spaces and places that evoke sentimentality or a sense of familiarity is something I'm very passionate about. My families' way of life is an essential connection for me, and I believe it's where I capture the best magic.

And while I love shooting in beautiful and dreamy outdoor locations, if it is not somewhere you spend time as a family, I’d really like you to consider a session in and around your home.

Why? Here is my why.

Before motherhood and photography, my whole career revolved around building homes for people and learning environments for kids. To really put a nail in it, I married an architect, so you could say that we are a bit (a lot) obsessed with how people exist in the spaces they live, work and play.

Home life is the nucleus of our lives, where we create memories and bond with our loved ones. It is the place where we feel the safest, most comfortable, and loved.

Home and the places you frequent is where I really see you. It’s the story I want to capture for you so that you can relive these days, because, truly, these are the golden days right now.

Your home doesn’t need to be big or immaculate. It doesn’t need to be your forever home, have matching furniture or that missing art piece that completes the room. You might think that the rental you live in isn’t that special, but if it is the home you brought your first born to, it might just surprise you how sentimental it can become once you’ve left it.

Don’t wait, time doesn’t. If you are hesitating because you don’t think your home is memory worthy, I am so ready to show you it is!

An investment in your most valuable and unrepeatable memories

Frequently asked questions

  • My style of photography seeks to capture you and the honest, heartfelt moments you are sharing as a family at this time. While I may provide some direction to help guide you during our session to make you feel as comfortable as possible, I tend to take a more observational approach to document those unscripted, in-between moments between you and your family.

In the lead-up to the shoot, you will receive a pre-shoot questionnaire to help me get to know you a little better, the spaces and places that are important to you, and how I can help make the shoot comfortable for you and your family.

On the day of the shoot, we will spend some time connecting before the camera comes out. And when I do start shooting, I try to be as inconspicuous as possible to allow you the freedom to just be present in the moment. Whether it’s playing in the lounge-room, reading on the bed, collecting shells on the beach – you do you, and I’ll be there to capture some beautiful moments.

  • A documentary approach to photography means that there is no intervention or direction from the photographer and is an accurate representation of events as they unfold. There is a complete loss of control over the environment, and the images have a photojournalistic quality to them.

Lifestyle photography is similar, although a bit more artistic curation is involved. The moments and emotions are real; however, there is more purposeful planning and direction to capture the moments. For example, we might move some objects out of the frame or move a play-mat closer to a window to capture more light.

How will I approach your session? Well, I feel my photography is more often than not a blend of the two approaches! Your shoot preferences will be explored during the booking process.

  • Amazing, I can’t wait to meet you and capture some wonderful memories. You can make a booking inquiry by completing the form on my contact page. I will offer some dates and times based on your inquiry, and once we’ve agreed a date I will send you a contract, questionnaire, pre-shoot guide and invoice with a $200 non-refundable retainer booking fee to be paid to secure the date.

  • Yes! All pricing collections include travel within the Northern Beaches, Upper and Lower North Shore areas of Sydney, NSW. Travel outside these areas is available for an additional fee (quote on request).

  • I don't subscribe to the idea that you need to be "styled" for your session. The images I capture should reflect who you are and I want you to feel completely comfortable so please do not feel you need to dress to a particular aesthetic (unless that is what you genuinely wish to do)! In the lead-up to your session I will email you a pre-shoot guide with some helpful tips should you feel you need a little guidance.

  • For families: If you have selected a package which includes 10 or 20 images, I'll deliver your proofing gallery within three weeks of your session.

Final touch ups will be made to your selected images within one week of your selection.

If you have selected an all inclusive package, your fully edited gallery will be delivered in three weeks of your session.

For Day in the Life & Small Weddings: The fully edited gallery will be delivered within 4 weeks.

  • It is inevitable that these inconveniences happen, don’t fret, we will reschedule to the first available date or look at alternative locations if you'd like to keep your secured date.

We will usually make a decision within 24 hours of the booking time; however, with sickness as much notice as possible is appreciated.

  • Yes, but weekends are very limited so if I offer a date, I recommend snatching it!

If we’re doing an outdoor shoot, depending on the location of your outdoor shoot, I might recommend that this session be held during the week when the locations are generally quieter.

  • Home sessions tend to be scheduled around the best light in your home and how it works with your family's routine. The pre-shoot questionnaire will ask you about your space so we can work out the best time. For newborn sessions, these are almost always held in the morning.

For outdoor sessions, early morning and late afternoon offer the most flattering light. The sun is softer, and the images captured have a beautiful glow often called golden hour.

  • My pre-shoot guide will give you some helpful tips to help you feel comfortable and more prepared. As an example, you might wish to remove clutter in the spaces we will be shooting so that it doesn’t distract from the scene. But really, I don't want you to stress about having an immaculate home - who does in real life?! I can move little things out of the camera frame if and when required.

Think of something "routine" that you may want to photograph and remember in more detail. It might be as simple as a nappy change, breast or bottle feeding, giving baby a bath- because even the most ordinary things are something you won't want to forget.

  • When capturing your session, I carefully select a mix of colour and black & white images to best represent the mood and emotion of each moment. Typically, about one-third of your gallery will feature black & white images, which I choose intentionally for their timeless quality and the way they enhance certain emotions and details.

While I understand that clients may have preferences for all-colour images, it’s important to note that my editing process is an integral part of my artistic style. I do not provide every black & white image in a colour version, as each choice is made to enhance the overall story of your session.

By booking a session with me, you're trusting my professional judgement and creative vision to deliver a gallery that reflects the best representation of your unique moments.

  • Absolutely! Please make an inquiry through the contact page.

  • I would love to but only with your consent!
